Mattie Iverson, J. Gordon, Misha Van de Veire

Artist's reception:  Thursday, February 5th. 6-8pm
Show runs:  February 4th - 28th

La Familia Gallery
117 Prefontaine Place South, Seattle
(206) 291-4608

In the Main Gallery:  Oil paintings by Mattie Iverson, which explore space, distance, and emotion with paint and process.  Each finished painting starts as a small study that was spontaneously created and then meticulously studied and recorded.

In the North Gallery:  Mixed media by J. Gordon, who's work lies somewhere between painting and sculpture.  Cement, clay, wax, and found objects are layered, then built up, worn down, and subjected to a variety of conditions before being finished with a layer of oil paint.  Gordon's work creates a dialogue about decay and renewal, the constant give and take of life.

In the Interior Gallery:  Mixed media installations by Misha Van de Veire, who's work investigates the correlation between form and content.
